I am having such a great time writing my memoir. Honestly, it is just such good therapy for me but I am sharing it as I go in the hopes that someone out there might feel less alone if they read it.
I currently have the Dedication, Epigraph, and Prologue published on Wattpad. Chapter One is in progress, and I’m hoping to publish it soon. Here's a sneak peek!
The Early Years
I was born in April 1994, the first child to loving parents. When I was born, they had a dog named Fritz, or Fritzy as we kids called him. He was a German Shepherd, and he was the nicest dog that I have ever met. My mom said that before they brought me home from the hospital, they took my baby blanket back to the house for Fritz to smell so he wouldn't freak out when I got home. I guess it worked because after I got home, Fritz became my personal guard dog. He would lie by me and just be there, protecting me. One of my favorite childhood photos is a picture of me and Fritz. I was lying on my tummy on the edge of the bed, while Fritz tickled my nose with his.

At the time, we lived out in a house in Vail, Arizona. If you don’t know where that is, it is a small city about 25 miles outside of Tucson, Arizona. Now, this was the mid-late 1990s, so there was nothing out there: no grocery stores, no restaurants, nada. If you needed milk, you had to drive into town to get it. Or at least, so am I told. I wasn’t old enough to actually remember.
I don’t remember much about the house we lived in at the time, except for vague images in my mind (and whatever I see on home videos that my parents took). I’m sure it was a nice house. I think it had a pool? Anyway, that isn’t really relevant right now.
